I love sewing, especially at Halloween. When my kids were young, I'd make their costumes and my son, especially, always looked forward to it. He'd dress up and couldn't wait to get to school for the parade where he would proudly show off his costume. My kids are grown now and the costume making days are gone. However, it's still my favorite time of year!
I satisfied my desire to sew something festive by creating a small youth-size cinch backpack that would be a great way for kids to carry their candy haul on that spooky eve! Wanting to incorporate a little bit of sublimation into the sewing, I pressed a design on a piece of poly canvas and then used that as a starting point for the backpack. Sewing the backpack was really easy and in an hour or so, I was done. I was, however, surprised at the amount of cording needed. I used 3 yards for a youth size which in my estimation would be perfect for a 4-6 year old.
I know many parents would prefer their childrens' names not be visible just as a safety measure but I did leave room at the bottom in the event personalization was requested.
Hopefully I can find some young child who can make use of the treat bag!
That's all for now! Keep Krafting!
